Thomas J. Armstrong

I’m an associate at BrownWinick, where I help businesses and their leaders work through legal issues and move transactions forward. My practice focuses on business and corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and other business transactions.

I chose this area of law because I enjoy solving complex problems and helping clients turn their plans into results. Whether you are considering an acquisition, negotiating an agreement, or addressing a day-to-day business concern, I will take the time to understand what you want to accomplish and help identify a practical path forward. I aim to be someone you feel comfortable calling when a question arises, whether the issue is large, small, or still taking shape.

More About Me

I earned my J.D., with highest honors, from Drake University Law School in 2026, along with a Business Law Certificate. I served on the Drake Law Review as a junior staff member and later as Research Editor on its Editorial Board. I am a member of the Order of the Coif, am admitted to practice in Iowa, and belong to the Iowa State Bar Association.

Before joining BrownWinick, I interned with the Enforcement Bureau of the Iowa Department of Insurance and Financial Services. I earned my B.A. in Political Science, magna cum laude, from Iowa State University in 2022, with a minor in Military Studies. I commissioned through Army ROTC as a Military Intelligence Officer in the Army Reserve and was named a Distinguished Military Graduate. I later graduated with distinction from the United States Army Intelligence Center of Excellence.

I grew up in Runnells, Iowa. Outside work, I enjoy exercising, golfing, upland bird hunting, and spending time with my wife and family.
