Specialties

I bring a practical approach to helping clients navigate their real estate needs. My experience includes residential and commercial transactions, platting and development projects, homeowners’ association and community governance matters, use restrictions, leasing, and a wide range of other real estate issues. I also help clients understand how real estate considerations fit within broader estate, tax, and business planning strategies.

Because every client is different, I take the time to understand your business, your challenges, and your goals. The better I understand what matters most to you, the better I can provide meaningful advice. In my experience, the strongest attorney-client relationships are built on trust, honesty, and a shared excitement about what we can accomplish together.

My Approach

My job is to help you make the best decision. Most decisions are made in the face of limitations and constraints, which create risk. Reducing that risk requires research, analysis, and experience. I work to provide thorough research so we understand the relevant boundaries, then identify possible courses of action and evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. From there, I apply my experience to help you choose the path that best supports your goals.

More About Me

I earned my B.S. in Business Management, magna cum laude, from Iowa State University in 2009. I received my J.D., with distinction, from the University of Iowa in 2014 and was admitted to the Iowa Bar that same year.

In 2017, I joined the Iowa Army National Guard as a Judge Advocate General (JAG). In 2025, I deployed with the 2/34th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, the “Ryder Brigade,” as Brigade Judge Advocate in support of Operation Inherent Resolve in the Middle East. I continue to serve in the Iowa National Guard while practicing at BrownWinick, and I value the opportunity to bring that experience to both my military and civilian work.

Outside of work, I enjoy exercising, gardening, creative writing, sketching, and spending time with my wonderful daughters.
