Specialties

As an attorney at BrownWinick, I work hard to bring a practical approach to meeting clients’ real estate needs. My real estate experience includes residential and commercial transactions, platting and development projects, homeowner association and community governance, use restrictions, leasing, and many other unique real estate issues. I also help clients understand how their real estate issues fit into their estate, tax, and business planning. Every client is different, which is why I strive to get to know you and your business. The more I understand your challenges and goals, the better I will be able to provide you with meaningful advice. In my experience, the best attorney/client relationships are built on honesty and excitement. Honesty is the result of trust, which is achieved through working together towards your goals and building credibility over time. Excitement comes from seeing the results of that mission. The best moments I have as an attorney are seeing you meet your business, professional, and personal goals.

My Approach

My job is to help you make the best decision. Unfortunately, most decisions are not made in a vacuum. They are made under limitations and constraints which create risk. Mitigating that risk requires research, analysis, and experience. I strive to provide you with thorough research so that we know the left and right limits. Next, we create possible courses of action and analyze their strengths and weaknesses. Finally, I apply my experience to help you select a course of action and make the best decision.

More About Me

I graduated with a B.S. in Business Management, Magna Cum Laude, from Iowa State University in 2009. I then received my J.D., with Distinction, from the University of Iowa in 2014. That same year, I was admitted to the Iowa Bar. I joined the Iowa Army National Guard as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) in 2017. In 2025, I deployed with the 2/34th Infantry Brigade Combat Team “Ryder Brigade” as the Brigade Judge Advocate in support of Operation Inherent Resolve in the Middle East. I continue to serve in the Iowa National Guard while practicing at BrownWinick and look forward to applying my experience to both my military and civilian jobs.

Outside of work, I enjoy exercising, gardening, creative writing, sketching, and spending time with my wonderful daughters.
