Specialties

As a litigation attorney at BrownWinick, it is my job to step in when conflicts arise. The individuals and businesses I represent are diverse but my goal is always the same—to provide timely, practical advice that empowers you to resolve your conflict in the most effective manner possible.

I am prepared to draw on my experience working for several federal and state judges to zealously advocate for your interests in court. I also recognize conflict resolution can take many forms and sometimes the most efficient, cost-effective path forward is through mediation, arbitration, or simply picking up the phone to talk with the other side. Whatever your situation calls for, I am prepared to defend your interests and guide you towards a favorable resolution.

My Approach

My approach begins by listening and understanding you, the conflict at hand, and your goals. I will then provide an honest, straightforward assessment of the situation and best steps forward, considering your individual goals. Finally, I will execute a strategy that incorporates your input and keeps you informed throughout.

Utilizing this approach, I regularly assist clients in shareholder disputes, breach of contract claims, non-compete and non-solicit actions, commercial and residential evictions, eminent domain proceedings, local zoning disputes, and government investigations. From complex commercial litigation in federal court to forcible entry and detainer actions in small claims court, I strive to provide all clients the attention and dedication they deserve.

More About Me

I am a proud native of Eastern Iowa, hailing from Dubuque. I attended college in Southern California, graduating summa cum laude from the University of San Diego in 2016. I then worked for the City of San Diego and a large farm retailer in the Midwest before attending the University of Iowa College of Law, where I received my J.D., with distinction, in 2021.

Following graduation, I spent several years clerking in the chambers of state and federal judges, including an Iowa Appellate Judge, two U.S. Magistrate Judges, and most recently a U.S. District Judge in the Southern District of Iowa. This experience provides me with valuable insight into judicial decision-making and strengthens my ability to advocate effectively for clients in court. Since joining BrownWinick, I have utilized my experience to assist clients in the energy, agricultural, ethanol, construction, manufacturing, and finance sectors.
