Ashley L. Ritter

I am an associate attorney at BrownWinick specializing in labor and employment law. I work with employers to navigate the challenges that come with managing people and running a business, advising on everything from routine personnel decisions to complex disputes and litigation. Having previously represented employees in workplace disputes, I understand how claims take shape and where risk tends to arise. That experience allows me to help employers identify issues early, respond strategically, and make decisions with confidence.

More About Me

Originally from Northeast Iowa, I stayed close to home for college, first attending the University of Northern Iowa and later the University of Iowa, where I earned my B.A. in 2020. I went on to attend Drake University Law School, receiving my J.D., with honors, in 2023. While at Drake, I served as an editor for the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law, Treasurer of the Moot Court Board, and worked as a student attorney in Drake’s General Civil Practice Clinic.

Before joining BrownWinick, I practiced at a small firm representing plaintiffs in a variety of employment disputes and civil rights cases. Through that work, I gained hands-on experience guiding cases through every stage of litigation, from early investigation and strategy through jury trials, arbitration, and appeals.

I am admitted to practice in the State of Iowa and before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa.
