James W. White is an associate attorney with BrownWinick practicing primarily in the area of litigation. James has experience handling cases before state and federal district courts, state appellate courts, and state administrative agencies. James is licensed to practice in Iowa and Illinois state courts, as well as the Southern District of Iowa and Central District of Illinois federal courts. James has helped obtain successful results for his clients in a variety of cases.
After growing up in Bettendorf, Iowa, James graduated from the University of Iowa, with distinction in 2011, receiving his B.A. in Political Science, with minors in Psychology and Sociology.
In 2014, James received his J.D., with distinction, from the University of Iowa College of Law. While in law school, James was a summer intern for Chief Judge Linda R. Reade in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa.
James is a member of the Polk County, Iowa, Illinois, and Scott County Bar Associations. He is also a member of the Iowa Defense Counsel Association and a member of the Dillion Inn of Court. James has been listed on the Iowa Pro Bono Honor Roll for 2015-2016. He has served as a judge for the Junior High Mock Trial Competition. James was admitted to the Iowa bar in 2014, the Illinois bar in 2015 and the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Iowa in 2018.
