Amy A. Johnson is a member of BrownWinick and has served as a member of the firm's Management Committee. Amy currently serves as co-chair of the firm's Agricultural Law practice group. She represents businesses facing a variety of legal issues including choice of entity and entity formation, debt and equity financing, mergers and acquisitions and drafting a wide variety of contracts. An active member of the American Agricultural Law Association, Amy advises clients in the Agribusiness sector in Iowa and other states regarding federal, state and local environmental laws; corporate farming laws; and the Packers and Stockyards Act. Additionally, Amy serves on the Agricultural Law Section Council for the Iowa State Bar Association.
Amy graduated, magna cum laude, receiving her B.A. from Central College in 2004. She received her J.D., cum laude, in 2007 from Creighton University School of Law. Amy was admitted to the Iowa bar in 2007 and is a member of the Polk County Bar Association, Iowa State Bar Association and the Polk County Women Attorneys. Amy is a 2011 graduate of the West Des Moines Leadership Academy.
Amy was a member of the Board of Directors at Easter Seals Iowa, serving on its Finance and Corporate Governance Committees from 2011 – 2014. She is also one of the founding members and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Morsel Combat Foundation, a non-profit entity that raises money for Meals from the Heartland. Amy and her family are active members of the St. Francis of Assisi Parish in West Des Moines where Amy serves as a member of the Parish Finance Council.
