Location: WEBINAR

Details

BrownWinick attorneys, Rebecca Brommel and Megan Moritz will address "Social Media in the Long Term Care Setting" in a one-hour WEBINAR on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. This WEBINAR is sponsored by LeadingAge Iowa.

Society’s constant access to smart phones, which allows us to take videos and photos and post them to social media, has added a new layer of complications for the long term care setting.  This WEBINAR will address a number of trending compliance issues in long term care facilities, as well as select best practice considerations with regard to mobile technology use by employees, residents and guests.

Objectives:

  1. Understand potential legal issues involving employees’ use of mobile technology (both at work, and personal use outside of work that can still affect the workplace);
  2. Understand potential legal issues and considerations involving resident privacy and potential abuse related to mobile technology and online communications;
  3. Understand potential legal issues and privacy concerns involved with use of cameras (whether placed by the facility or by families) in the long term care setting; and
  4. Learn best practices for handling mobile technology, as well as photo, video and social media issues with employees, residents and guests.
