Miranda L. Hughes, Attorney at Law
Miranda assists clients in obtaining equity through private placements, state
registrations and publicly registered offerings with simultaneous multi-state
registrations. She supervises and oversees all aspects of various renewable fuels
project development from inception through start-up of plant operations. This
includes guiding clients on issues related to debt financing, construction, and
marketing and procurement. In addition, she advises several public companies on
matters relating to Securities and Exchange Commission reporting and regulation,
corporate governance and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
In addition, Miranda's experience includes representing the interests of both
secured and unsecured creditors in
bankruptcy matters and various state court
proceedings. Before joining BrownWinick, she served as a judicial clerk to the
Honorable Russell J. Hill of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District
of Iowa.
Miranda received her B.A. from the University of Iowa in 1989. She received
her J.D., with distinction, from the University of Iowa College of Law and was admitted to the Iowa bar
in 1992. Miranda is also admitted to practice before the United States District
Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa.
