Bradley R. Kruse, Attorney at Law
Bradley R. Kruse is a member of BrownWinick's
Corporate Transactions,
Public Utilities,
Renewable Fuels and
Bankruptcy and Corporate Restructuring practice groups. Brad represents business clients in a wide variety of matters,
including mergers and acquisitions, asset purchases and sales, contract negotiation
and drafting, loan transactions, shareholder matters and business disputes. Brad
has over 20 years of experience in the representation of corporate, partnership
and individual debtors and creditors, as well as creditors' committees, in numerous
aspects of bankruptcy proceedings, including formulation of Chapter 11 plans of
reorganization, lifting the automatic stay, preferences and fraudulent conveyances,
debtor-in-possession financing, and use of cash collateral.
Brad also practices in the areas of public utilities, energy, and telecommunications
law, including related regulatory compliance, litigation, corporate transactions
and governmental relations matters. Prior to joining BrownWinick, Brad served
as Associate General Counsel at McLeodUSA Telecommunications. He has appeared
before a
variety of state public utility boards in numerous hearings on telecommunications
and energy issues and has had numerous dealings with the Iowa Insurance Division
on a variety of matters.
Brad received his B.A,
with honors, from Stanford University in 1985 and his J.D. in 1989 from the University of
Iowa, where he was a member and Associate Managing Editor of
The Iowa Law Review. Brad is licensed in both Iowa (2003) and Illinois (1989) and is admitted to
practice before all state courts in Iowa and Illinois, the U.S. District Courts
for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa, the Northern District of Illinois
(including Trial Bar), the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth, Seventh and Eighth
Circuits and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Brad was selected as a member of the 2005-2006 Leadership Iowa class, a program
of the Association of Business and Industry Foundation, which is designed to bring
leaders together from across Iowa who represent a variety of occupations, civic
involvement and geographic locations.
Brad is a member of the Polk County and Iowa State Bar Associations, the American
Bankruptcy
Institute and the Energy Bar Association.
