Alexander M. Johnson is a member of BrownWinick and is Chair of the firm's Associates Committee. Alex is experienced in all areas of litigation and is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts within the state of Iowa. He has handled a wide variety of cases from construction law to agricultural law and has handled a number of arbitrations and mediations. Alex also has a great deal of experience in banking law and in handling foreclosures and business disputes. Alex has a general practice, focusing in the areas of litigation, real estate, construction and banking law. He represents both individuals and businesses in litigation and transactions. 

 

Alex is a member of the Polk County and Iowa State Bar Associations. He is also active in the Altoona Chamber of Commerce and sits as a member on the Polk County Fee Arbitration Commission and is also a Board member of the Polk County Bar Association's Volunteer Lawyer's Project. Alex is a graduate of the 2008-09 Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute, a member of the Des Moines Business Record''s 2009 Forty Under 40 Class and the 2010 Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Man of the Year Runner Up.

 

Alex received his B.A. from Iowa State University and his J.D. from Drake University with honors.  He was admitted to the Iowa bar in 1999.
